Five years into its journey, AMAIA combines the energy of a new production company with the solid experience of executives Diane Maia and Eduardo Nasser. Focused on audiovisual content that balances artistic relevance and commercial viability, the company has produced and released three feature films during this period.
The award-winning "The Best Place in the World Is Now", directed by Caco Ciocler (Audience Award for Best Film at the São Paulo International Film Festival 2021); the comedy "Vai Ter Troco", directed by Maurício Eça for Disney+; and the biographical film about Sidney Magal, "My Blood Boils for You", directed by Paulo Machline, in co-production with Mar Filmes.
In a phase of rapid expansion, the company is currently working on the feature film "The Character", directed by Fábio Mendonça, set to be showcased at the Marché du Film in Cannes, as well as preparing the release of "Can’t Hear You", a new project by Caco Ciocler awarded at the Rio Int'l Film Festival 2025. The current portfolio also includes the TV movie "Our Neighborhood", produced for TV Globo, in addition to two productions in partnership with Netflix and the development of new projects with renowned names such as Marcelo Rubens Paiva, Valter Hugo Mãe, and directors Cao Hamburger, Laís Bodanzky, and Monique Gardenberg.

DIANE MAIA

Diane Maia has produced more than 15 films and 3 series. Her productions have achieved strong box office results and won awards at major festivals such as the Berlinale, Havana, and the São Paulo International Film Festival (Best Film in 2018 and 2021), among others.
The Carrossel: The Movie franchise sold 5 million tickets, and the series Aldo – Stronger Than the World was nominated for Best Series at the 2018 Emmys.
At the helm of her production company AMAIA, she has developed more than 8 projects across fiction, documentaries, and series. In 2025, AMAIA shot 3 feature films and developed 2 projects for Netflix. For 2026, the company is preparing new releases as well as a new feature film slated for the second half of the year, in co-production with Globo.
EDUARDO NASSER
Eduardo Nasser is a producer with over two decades of experience in the international cultural sector. Between 2008 and 2011, he collaborated with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, developing public policies designed to foster innovation.
In the audiovisual sector, Eduardo has built an extensive track record as executive producer. His film credits include Na Quebrada (2014), TOC (2015), and the critically acclaimed Shine Your Eyes (Cidade Pássaro, 2020). Most recently, he produced Dreaming of Lions (Sonhar com Leões, 2024) and I Only Rest in the Storm (O Riso e a Faca, 2026), which was selected for Cannes 2025 (Un Certain Regard). His expertise also extends to high-end streaming content; he produced the first two seasons of the series Aruanas for Globoplay, the feature film Airplane Mode (Modo Avião) for Netflix, and the series 5x Comedy (5x Comédia) for Amazon Prime Video.
